Información adicionalThe Lunar Series III began a new 12-year cycle in 2020. Each year, an animal of the Chinese zodiac is presented in a changing design. Each of these twelve animals are attributed different characteristics and can be compared with the significance of the Western zodiac signs. In addition to the gold coins, the product is also available in silver and platinum. The representation of the animal can vary with the different metals. The Lunar coins can be bought in different sizes from 1/20 ounce to 1 kilogram. They are standardly packaged in plastic capsules by the manufacturer to protect them from damage. The coins are produced by the Perth Mint, the oldest mint in Australia. Since its founding in 1899, the mint has established itself as a leading international producer of precious metal coins. The company is known for innovation and quality in coin production and even minted the world's first gold coin weighing one ton. The Lunar Series III is a continuation of the successful coin series that began with the first Lunar Series in 1996. The series has since proven to be extremely popular and is relaunched every 12 years. Due to their design, quality and cultural reference, the Lunar Series coins are appreciated by numismatists and are popular among collectors.
